no blow-by-blow recap of a successful jaunt back to the city. from the moment i saw unstadt (then rico) at o'hare on friday night to a quiet ducking-out with unstadt and gurs and slater sunday afternoon, it was memorable and near-perfect.

the only imperfections were, i think, probably caused by me. it happens, i guess. and eric's got fine, fine photographic proof.

next time this whole group will be together? probably a long, long time from now. outstanding.

the bears were outplayed by a very good pittsburgh team today. despite a nine-point offensive performance, lovie smith says that orton's still his guy. this makes less than no sense. great day to be a steelers fan. (san diego, kc losses) not a great day to be a bears fan (vikings win, with mike vick looming.) i'm really excited for sunday night against mike vick at soldier field. i think i'll make rud-wings, with the boy possibly present.

zach strief was named an all-american by the national football writers association on saturday afternoon. that means two more items added to the wall of honor for 2006. what a nice year for northwestern football.

my most-promising job lead was filled by someone other than me, which is disappointing. i believe that my tardiness in sending materials was probably a factor. one door closes and another opens, a truth in this case. the new door isn't as promising, but is probably worth investigating.

also, i'm going to pick up some coin getting mri's soon enough. woof.
