nothing, really, to write about the northwestern game. i suspected it might be that way - ohio state's by far the most talented team in the conference, after all. but i sure was excited after the opening drive, particularly the johnny fields catch.

basanez has not been good since the sparty win, and he was off again on saturday. that said, ohio state's defense is fantastic. i can't figure how they lost to penn state. (didn't see that game either; i'd assume fluky, or probably just tressel being afraid to use troy smith to his full effectiveness.)

one thing i don't get is the infatuation with ted ginn. why didn't he, at least once, line up at quarterback and take a sweep left? never, i don't think, did he get a quick screen. he's electrifying, i guess, but he should at least touch the ball a few times.

worst play of the game was that option attempt by baz. he faked the shovel, then dropped it. and the drive was done. so was the game.

[should be noted that smith was not in on the first touchdown. should also be noted that the receiver was interfered with on the play preceding the blocked punt. not that either would have mattered.]

willie's destroyers are scuffling, big time. injury problems, and ill-timed lineup moves. of course, when you're choosing between michael bennett and jonathan wells and adrian peterson (i chose 1 and 3, missed on 2), you've probably got problems. then again, maybe phil dawson will drill 6 field goals in the night game, and i'll escape with a victory. nope.

wow, that was boring.
