rough week for indie rock. d-plan says they're done, and so has beulah.

However, beulah has somewhat cryptically updated their website, with the words "We just read an online article that said we're gonna be breaking up after the release of our next record. This news made all of us so sad that we've decided to stay together until each of us dies." I take the sarcastic-sounding second sentence to mean that they're actually breaking up, despite a host of people emailing to tell them how much they love them.

It seems like the wrong response to the onslaught of email they've probably received. People like them, and are sad they're splitting. That should make them happy, not angry.
